Back in the 80s I bought a $400 White’s metal detector thinking I would find a lot of treasure.

I guess I was not very good at it. I found a few coins, mostly recent ones and a pocket knife. That pocket knife was probably the best thing I ever found with it.

It was probably most useful for finding things I had lost in the grass. For instance I once lost the key to the wheel of my lawn tractor.

You need to get over here to the Treasure Coast beaches with your metal detector after winter nor’easter. Those winter storms churn up the treasure shipwrecks from the 1715 fleet and the silver & gold coins wash ashore.
