You apparently know more about Sen. Goldwater than I do. I was eighteen when he was running for the presidency and I did some doorbelling for him but as far as his views on abortion or homosexuality, I wouldn’t have had a clue. People didn’t talk much about that stuff in public 50 years ago.
I still say he was way more conservative than most Republicans today I also think his positions would have evolved after 50 million abortions and the in-your-face way that queers are today.

When Goldwater got old and senile he said homosexuals should be able to allowed to serve in the military. When he was young and running for office as a republican he would have thought homosexual “marriage” was the craziest thing he had ever heard of.
