As if it isnt enough we have to battle BOTH parties to keep tens of millions of illegal invaders from being handed amnesty, we also have to fight just to maintain our common language. And as with the La Raza Studies battle in Tucson, Arizona is once again the battlefield.
An Arizona college is being sued for labeling a student a bigot and punishing her with a long-term suspension after she requested that English be used in her nursing studies class so she could learn the subject.
The action was filed against Pima Community College on behalf of student Terri Bennett, who alleged that school officials created a learning environment [that] was hostile to her as an English-language speaker.
The case will proceed to trial in March.

On the other hand, Spanish isn't that difficult to learn. It's a shame classical education has gone by the wayside. Latin gives you a door to the romance languages.

So what are the patients suppose to do, hire translators to translate what the nurse says, when the ones who can only speak Spanish work mainly at English speaking Hospitals?Should I take it these are dreamers be given - access to patients personal information ??
I would suggest you read the article. She was called a "bigot" and a "b*tch" and told she was "discriminating against Mexican-Americans". Awful stuff.
People do eventually adjust.
I have yet to meet a frenchman that doesn't speak a little bit of german.

Spanish wouldnt be in my top 10
Why should I learn the language of invaders?
“Latin gives you a door to the romance languages.”
Latin is the language of most everything medical, the bones in our bodies, etc.

As I said, a classical education goes a long way.
I wish I had a complete one.

I speak American! and a smattering of Korean.
I do know what a fajita is and how to say “fajita, por favor”
That said, on the issue of learning Spanish. We can bury our heads in the sand, or we can do all we can to ensure our kids have as much of a future as this country -- whatever it will be -- allows.
My kids WILL learn Spanish.
by “smattering” I mean what I picked up from watching shows with subtitles.
Call the White House and complain. Be sure to press 2 for English!
Mine either.
When I got back from basic-training and started college, I took Japanese as my foreign language instead of the usual Spanish or German.
> Why should I learn the language of invaders?
Good question — it might make it easier for intel gathering when/if the invasion goes hot.
The French know English.
Every one of them.
They will not speak it. And they are nice to Americans who speak French. I know from experience.
And they despise Americans who won’t even try to say “Merci”.
We hate them for it, but, as you say, French is not that hard to learn, so I always speak French whenever I am in France and I speak German whenever I am in Germany, and I speak English when I am here. It’s not that hard to learn.
But there is no way I am learning another language to get along in my own country, I don’t care if I do live in wimpy give away our language borders and culture texas. It is not right.
it’s not that hard to
They have maintained their culture around that. Having given over to the Muslims, I can’t speak to except to say birth control culture has a price, as Pope Paul warned their Catholic butts a long time ago, as he did ours.
A very basic understanding of the language should cover:
Where is the bathroom?
More beer!
How much for your daughter?
Hello.
Goodbye
Thank You!
And of course, Oh s***!

I know spanish, I just don’t let on that I know it. There are a lot of hispanic people wondering why their employment status suddenly changed.
The first Christian language in Texas was Spanish. We did take the Republic from Mexico.
There has long been that stress in Texas. Most Texas patriots did speak at least some Spanish.
That said, I listen more than I speak in all languages.

This is stupid to the point of absurdity.
