SCTV is at least one of the few funniest shows in TV history.

Thanks for mentioning SCTV. Some of the greatest tv comedy of all time was on SCTV.

"SCTV is at least one of the few funniest shows in TV history."

You bet. It was 30 minutes that seemed to go by in 5 minutes. I know everyone talks about "I love Lucy" and Jackie Gleason's "The Honeymoners" but for me the era of "SCTV", "Benny Hill", "Monty Pyton" and the first two seasons of "Saturday Night Live" was the golden age of television comedy.

The first half of Stripes also

I LOVE That movie... but, yea.. once they go to Italy, it's pretty lame.

"WHERE ARE THE WINNEBAGOES!!" is a line I use often. My closest friends know where it comes from.

Did you know, the opening scene where Murray throws the keys off the bridge was filmed in LOUISVILLE? I lived here... but, never knew that until I watched the movie again a few weeks ago. I recognized the bridge.

i would add Fawty Towers to your list. Ramis was really a great comedic talent. Not necessarily a household name, but he was brilliant in almost any phase of filmmaking. Acting, writing, directing...he could do it all.

I think Harold was the only Chicago-based member of SCTV, the rest were from Toronto.

Which is funny, because there were no Winnebagos used in the film. They were made out of GMC motorhomes, which were all front-wheel drives using the Oldsmobile 455 V-8 (later years were 403 Cubic inches) and transaxle from the Toronado.

Drop the Caddy story line, then double the interaction between Knight, Dangerfield, Murray, and Chevy Chase, and you may have funniest movie (Caddyshack) of all time.
