Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott leads Democrat Wendy Davis by 11 points, according to a new poll Monday.
Forty-seven percent of voters said they back Abbott, while 36 percent would vote for Davis, a University of Texas/Texas Tribune poll found. Seventeen percent of registered voters said they had no opinion.
The new poll represents a widening gap between Abbott and Davis. In October, the survey found Abbott leading Davis by just 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the poll also found that Rep. Steve Stockman poses a minor threat to Sen. John Cornyn in the Senate race. Sixty-two percent of likely Republican voters would support Cornyn, while just 16 percent would back Stockman, according to the survey.
In the Democratic Senate primary, Kesha Rogers leads with 35 percent of likely Democratic voters. Rogers has called for the impeachment of President Barack Obama and repeal of the Affordable Care Act, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The poll surveyed 1,200 registered voters online between Feb. 7 and Feb. 17 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 2.83 percentage points. The questions of likely Republican primary voters have a margin of error of plus or minus 4.56 percentage points, and the questions of likely Democratic primary voters have a margin of error of plus or minus 6.04 percentage points.

We have to go look at where Cruz was polling this week two years ago to find the truth.
So even with the lack of media coverage and condemnation by the state media over her flip flops on guns and her own abortion views, she is falling? On top of the full court press of the same media and editorial boards to condemn and make a racial deal out of Abbott’s comment comparing the corruption in the Rio Grande Valley to that of the third world, their darling COULD NOT increase her lead and she lost points???
ROTFLMAO!!!!!
George P polling at 67%
Aw, heck no!!! I told TX to stay out da Bushes :(

Problem is last time, Tom Leppert took 15% or so of the primary vote. There’s no “Tom Leppert” candidate in the race this time. So Cornyn is benefitting. The Electorate mix right now seems to be 60% RINO/40% Non-RINO.
Last time polling was:
40% Dewhust
31% Cruz
17% Leppert
These are registered voters numbers, not likely voter numbers, so I hope Tea Party really shows up and forces a miracle runoff. But it would be a miracle based on the numbers I’ve seen.
I think he's going to get nibbled to death by ducks.

Private Poll I saw this weekend:
Cornyn 64%
Stockman 23%
Stovall 6%
Cope 3%
Vega 3%
Other 1%
UTex Poll in this article:
Cornyn 62%
Stockman 16%
Vega 7%
Stovall 4%
Cope 4%
Reasor 3%
Mapp 3%
Cleaver 1%
Honesty, character and integrity doesn’t factor into the Democratic vote.
That private poll goes way out against 5 polls that show Cornyn under 50%. Seems to be a big outlier.
MOST Execellent!!!
Voted for Stovall, but it’s an uphill battle to fight Cornyn’s fat cat contributors and the urban papers who hate real conservative candidates.
IMHO, that 17% is the so called “independent” vote. They are waiting to see who is trending to win before making a decision.
Bunch of lily livered chicken $h!t cowards
Texans pretty much agree with most things Ted says. His language was a bit over the top, but it didn’t bother me. Besides, the Dems said the same kinds of things about Bush and the media didn’t even flinch. Turnabout is fair play.
“Hmmm, should I get an abortion or just go out for new shoes”
Buh bye Abortion Barbie. The 15 mins are over.
IMHO, complacency is the conservatives greatest enemy.
Abbott needs a landslide, but my opinion is that the vote will be relatively close. Close enough to empower all the Soros backed groups trying to flip Texas.
I agree. I had no problem voting against Cornhole today. If a run off is forced, then there is a slight chance to get rid of him.
Starting at Austin and moving south, Texas is red and getting redder. The illegals, if they vote, and the dems are going to make sure of that, could swing the election.
Texas has the same problem as the rest of the country, low info idiots outnumber thinking Americans.
