If, a handful of years into the future, the number of undocumented immigrants in the United States has fallen sharply or zeroed out, the president will deserve all the credit. Mexicos president, that is.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, no stranger to the tough debate over the nations immigration laws, thinks recent legislation passed by Mexicos Congress, a major priority of President Enrique Pena Nieto, may have set in motion a reversal of the flow of undocumented immigrants northward. In a short time, Perry said in an interview Saturday, undocumented immigrants may be streaming back over the U.S.-Mexico border, headed for lucrative energy sector jobs back home.
The landscape on immigration is fast changing, Perry said. My instinct is that immigration and immigration reform are going to be substantially less of a flashpoint than they have been in the last several years.
The change, Perry predicted, will come as private investors begin taking stakes in Pemex, Mexicos state-owned oil monopoly. In December, Mexicos Senate ratified outlines of legislation that would allow private investment in the company, which could eventually lead to complete privatization. Outside analysts believe the new rules will eventually make Mexico one of the worlds largest oil producers.
The new jobs that result from the energy boom, Perry predicted, will attract immigrant labor that would otherwise come to the United States.

Mexico economy is booming because so many companies have left to go there. It is not just Mexico.
“Don’t put up too big of fence. We might have to sneak across it for jobs and a government which supports a militia fighting back against criminals...”
I would not try going the other way, because the Federales WILL SHOOT YOU! At least that’s what they are doing with Mexico’s border with Guatemala.
“The new jobs that result from the energy boom, Perry predicted, will attract immigrant labor that would otherwise come to the United States.”
Most likely the president will put up a wall to keep those
wetbacks from going back to mexico. Whats the point in
investing in any mexican owned entity, they will just
nationalize it all over again just like they’ve done countless
times before.
In all, mexico is about as trustworthy as an Obama. And just
as worthless to boot. I’m surprised that Perry would be
so gullible.
“The change, Perry predicted, will come as private investors begin taking stakes in Pemex, Mexicos state-owned oil monopoly.”
He’s smokin something.
1. Those who come here illegally are not getting jobs in the “oil patch” industries in Mexico.
2. Oil supplies are fungible and serve global markets, that will not necessarily make energy - oil based energy - in Mexico cheaper than it is now. Pemex problem is NOT what its oil can be sold for, but its cost of production. When it can be run more efficiently, it will make better profits and ROI, but that will not necessarily lower energy prices in Mexico, given energy consumers - power companies and refineries, will still be looking for the best deals they can get from the global markets, whether the supplier is domestic or not.
3. Privitizing Pemex will a good thing for many reasons. To what extent it will lower the predominately unskilled and low-skilled illegal immigration from Mexico requires a crytsal ball that Perry does not have.
Perry’s been sucking up to Mexico since time began.
He angered the electorate and killed his prez chances w/ that primary debate remark about us having no heart.
We even got pics of him sucking up—— as Mexico gave
him a serape b/c Perry let illegals get in-state tuition.
I am sure the almost civil war in Mexico will solve it. lol
He’s b-a-a-a-c-k.
Yeah-—nice Obama/Holder gave ‘em guns.
The bulk of the legal immigrants we allow in are not ready for a tech and robotics type of economy. They are not much better than the illegal aliens as far as education and English proficiency. Many people are under the mistaken impression that legal immigrants tend to be skilled and responsible compared to the illegals.
We’re in trouble now, Liz! Prepare to be banned!
La Raza Rick ? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!
Notice Ricky ditched the retro part-in-the-middle hair style-——my guess is Anita’s getting a breast reduction.
Looks like a high-humidity day or a mousse flop. You decide.
It does look quite different.
Yeah, but those gelled-up waves-—must make the big-haired cowgirls over at Billy Bob’s swoon.
Musta had a professional stylist redo his do. LOL.
I think it looks nice, actually. There’s never been anything wrong with his looks.
He may have realized that the day of big hair is over. Let’s just hope the Brokeback Mountain photos of our he-man shoveling...er, hay, don’t make a resurgence.
Naw. The Mexican “public sector” will suck up whatever benefit it can as soon as the oil companies start to make some real money. The won’t be able to resist looting the companies. They’re more likely to end up like Venezuela.
BTW---you still got that crotch shot? A surefire vote-getter down at the BBQ pit.
