Saying that the British journalist's show had "run its course," CNN president Jeff Zucker told the New York Times earlier today that he was pulling the plug on Piers Morgan's eponymous primetime news program (h/t Politico's Dylan Byers).
The staunchly leftist anti-gun Brit is, of course, a frequent target of our criticism and he's still on our radar whether or not he remains with the network. You can read our archive of Morgan's bias by clicking here. Feel free to share your thoughts on the demise of the former tabloid editor's low-rated program in the comments section.
Never did like this A--hole....
so now that he doesn’t have a job anymore, can we pull is green card and foist him back on the UK?
Gee, what’s not to like about a sanctimonious Brit, who has no understanding of our history and constitution, lecturing us about gun control?????? (sarcasm)
I wish Matthews and Sharpton would get cancelled even though I know they are on a different network their ratings are abysmal.
They are a cancer and the end is near.
The kinda sad thing is that Piers Morgan was never meant to be “staunchly leftist.” In the UK, he was considered center-right. He just adopted a cause in the US which the center-right had long since abandoned its opposition to and which he had very little understanding of its role in our culture and our security of freedom: gun control. From there, he just made all the wrong friends and all the wrong enemies.
Strange....another thread says it’s Morgan’s decision to quit.
Would be fun to see their internal viewership numbers.
I would watch him.
Joey Buttafuoco is another possibility
Was not Moron the guy falsely accusing Tommies of atrocities in Iraq?
At any rate we may surmise that CNN advertisers were getting irritated over his ratings.
Piers and Baldwin out of public view.
Quite the good news day!
Yes, he was. It’s rather incredible how many jobs he lost for serious offenses which absolutely should have ended his career!
If Zucker was smart and actually wanted to kickstart CNN’s ratings, he’d dangle a couple of hundred million in front of Rush Limbaugh.
Who will they replace him with?
It could be worse!
I’m sure both of his regular viewers will be devastated.
>> If Zucker was smart... hed dangle a couple of hundred million in front of Rush Limbaugh.
Bet Zucker’s thought about it.
On the other hand... Rush has tried teevee, and been burned. He may not go for it.
Hey, maybe Zucker’s already ASKED Rush, and Rush turned him down!
CNN doesnt know it.. they are self deceptive. They will continue to believe they are right and lose money. Over and over again....
The whole concept of Rush sparring with guests I’m thinking would be a smash hit, and not only with conservatives. The problem, of course, is that liberals don’t under any circumstances want the Low Information American knowing that the Rush they have always demonized is a smart, funny, highly professional and reasonable fellow. That just doesn’t fit with their decades-old propaganda.
>> Rush sparring with guests
Well, that whole concept would be new to Rush. He has callers, but very, very few “guests”
What makes you think that’s the format he’s go along with?
(Not that I wouldn’t like to see it happen.)
We didn’t turn on him, the LI voters finally got wise to him.
