I actually saw the protesters from just across Khreshchatyk street when I returned to Kiev from Odessa the night before I returned to the US. What's really sobering is that I received an email Saturday night from my guide/translator with links to some pictures of the aftermath of the protests. In one of them were the bodies of 2 dead men with their faces covered with tarps. The photographer was standing within feet of where I was hassled by the Kiev police in early November.
