Unfortunately, even if one were to overlook GSA’s affiliations you cannot ignore the fact that GS cookies are cheap, factory cookies full of mysto-chemical ingredients.
Since I became aware of how GSA 'uses' children to further a liberal socio-political agenda, I have not yet had the pleasure of coming across & engaging a girl & her mother selling cookies, sans one time that I wasn't prepared, smiled & politely said, "No thank you."
However, I've since settled on how to approach it:
Me: "I'm sorry, but I cannot willingly participate in the victimization of your daughter. The Girl Scouts of America uses families & their daughters to promote a political agenda that should only involve discourse among adults.Conservatives need to remember the little girls are present and victims in all this (without regard to the mother's politics); I'd encourage similar repertoire for inevitable engagements. As well, I am likewise incensed that our government would criminalize you & your daughter making baked goods to support your LOCAL activities, be they school-based, extra-curricular or personal. I would MUCH rather purchase home-baked goods made by (you and) your daughter than this factory-produced rubbish. If you are selling cookies to support a 'local' function, I am happy to contribute but I cannot buy 'Girl Scout' cookies. I would encourage you to review the organization with which you are openly affiliated."
if they need to sell tons of cheaply made cookies and force the girls to sell sell sell then that business model stinks....
throw in the fact that they actually seem to be antifamily, well , there you go....
I'm just ornery I guess because I won't play that game...
