I believe that Derek Jeter’s grandparents lived in New Milford, NJ about 20 miles from Bloomfield. The only towns across the river from New Milford would be Oradell or River Edge. Derek lived in Pequanock when he was born, even further away from Bloomfield.
To add, just a few miles down River Road from New Milford, on the other side of Teaneck, is Bogota. The town where Richie Incognito grew up, pre HS that is.
