Fairly recently I joined facebook and including some old acquaintances I’m seeing a pretty broad range of views.

The funny thing is sometimes I see the same thing posted by my right wing friends and my left wing friends and it’s not always just doggies & kitties (although I admit it’s mostly doggies & kitties!)

I’m wondering if there is some common ground that we can find, even with lefties and certainly those in the middle.

The entrenchment/entitlement of our elected officials; NSA/spying/police brutality; government corruption and waste; crazy cr*p like shutting down lemonade stands and not letting people fly flags, these are some of the areas where I see across the board agreement.

The biggest problem right now, that I see, is the media. They are hurting us every single day, much more than the Dems are.

But I agree, the RINOs have to go....away.

There is.
I think we can find common ground on the subject of Justice — when I ask someone who's into "social justice" if it is just to steal someone's house and give it to someone else, they say "no" and will agree that "social justice" without [real] justice is just 'social' — if you ask them about the NSA's domestic spying they're on our side saying that is wrong — if you bring up the politically-motivated IRS targetings they'll agree that that is wrong.

When you bring up the police brutality, no-knock warrants, and all the rest that are resultant of militarizing the police you're more likely to get disagreement from conservatives* when you say this is wrong! than you are with a "leftie" or a "middle".

I think framing the debt in terms of Justice would be a winning move, too — point out that the public debt is guaranteed-by/with the taxes [which it is illegal not to pay] the government will collect in the future, that their endless debt-incurrance is literally selling you, your children, their children, grand-children, and great-great-grandchildren into slavery.

* Conservative as in wants to keep things the way they are.

We have more in common with Occupy than the liberals do.

Hardcore lefties want to destroy the republic, so no. The only way to get at the “pinko” types is to break through their false conceptions and show them how the hard left has fooled them.

As things look to me, the Founding Fathers had little to no common ground with royalists who were fine with George III flouting common law and acting like an absolute ruler.
