Obama’s News Police

Posted By Matthew Vadum On February 21, 2014 @ 12:56 am In Daily Mailer,FrontPage

The Obama administration is planning to send what critics characterize as government spies into the newsrooms of the nation’s media outlets.

This unprecedented assault on Americans’ First Amendment freedoms is part of the Community Organizer-in-Chief’s political war against the few pockets of media resistance he has encountered at Fox News and in the world of talk radio. Sending federal bureaucrats to meddle in newsroom affairs by conducting an alleged “study” will chill news coverage and make government-licensed broadcast media think twice about airing stories that place the Obama administration in a bad light.

To this end the Federal Communications Commission is moving forward with its “Multi-Market Study of Critical Information Needs,” or CIN. Although the FCC is a regulatory body, not a research organization, it plans to send researchers to question reporters, editors, and station owners about how they decide which stories to run. In the spring a field test is set for Columbia, S.C.

The FCC intends to discover “the process by which stories are selected,” how often stations cover “critical information needs,” the media outlets’ “perceived station bias,” and “perceived responsiveness to underserved populations.” The phrase “underserved populations” is politically correct neo-Marxist jargon and a screaming red flag that some kind of quota system may be on its way...

MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS will all welcome it and get that little tingle up their collective legs. Now they won’t have to contact the WH on what to say, they’ll have their own personal contact right in the newsroom.

This sounds similar to those DNA-sampling traffic stops.

That's a real nice broadcast license you have there.
Would be real shame if something happened to it.

The president’s staff has been using personal e-mail accounts to side-step FOIA requests. Maybe the news departments will start doing video chats, and only holding sham meetings when the FCC is present, to accomplish the same goals.

Hey press, how does it feel when your Constitutional right gets stomped on?

Except that the only ones that will get stomped are conservatives and Christians. MSNBC, CNN, NBC, etc., are all untouched by this.

"...The entire GOP caucus ought to be down at the South Lawn fence of the White House denouncing this ...

Exactly, but don't hold your breath. The House should also immediately defund this study by the FCC.

My advice:
Film FCC person that enters the newsroom for the entire time that they are there.
Then play b the tape on air and on internet, name the individuals and provide home addresses and phone numbers.

Soooooooo let me get this straight, the fcc is going to make sure the msm doesn’t put out any bad stories about the black Adolph that is our dictator in the white house.

Seems like a waste of time. The FCC is too late. The MS scumbags do it to themselves already.

Darkness cannot stand even the tiniest amount of light.

If a totalitarian government can’t shut people up when they wish to reveal the truth, the government generally goes straight to the “final solution”. That’s why the other Socialists killed so many millions in the last century.

Liberal newspapers and TV networks don't 'get' something - liberals won't always be in power.

Would NBC like a conservative minder in the newsroom? Running the FCC? "I see you haven't run any positive stories about the Tea Party in the last few weeks... can you explain?"

the new media as well as satilite radio.

I think you need to know how to spell "satellite" before you can benefit from it.
