I will try to live by the values of my BSA Handbook, 1963. Otherwise the Scouts are dead to me.

The BSA is dead to me...my attachment to them has been severed in a most vile and violent method...
And to all those on this forum who would engage in excoriating Scouters who are sticking to their principles and morals and are leaving the BSA...well, let’s just say, take a look at your BSA’s Oath and Law before you open your vile mouths and type...hypocrites.
I’m pretty sure that it was before 2007 that the Boy Scouts instituted a policy that no adult leader could be alone with a scout. They all had to go through training and there had to always be at least two leaders. Four of my nephews are Eagle Scouts and at least two of them and my brother have all served as leaders so I’m pretty sure of that policy. If there was a scout sponsored event and the policy was not followed, then the scouts get sued. Organizations like the scouts, sports, churches have always drawn pedophiles and kids have been molested. Its only been in the past few years that there have been screenings, training, and policies. When my son was doing community theater at the age of 12, small for his age, blond, very cute, I went to all the rehearsals and shows and if I could get away with it, lurked back stage. Same with wrestling. This was 15 years ago.
As usual, what is wrong with the reporting here? Goleta is probably 200 miles+ down the coast from Salinas. Long way to go to molest some boy at a Christmas tree lot.
Did the reporter mean Greenfield? Gonzales? Both of these are right down the road from Salinas and are the only towns of consequence I can remember from Monterey County that start with a ‘G’.

Do the Girl Scouts allow men to be troop leaders? If not, why not; if so, how are the protecting the girls from predators?
Clearly someone didn’t get the memo: Homosexuals are now welcomed in the Boy Scouts.
I haven’t heard a reasonable explanation from the Left for why you would put a child in a risky situation like this.
I always use the example: you wouldn’t allow your daughters to share the same tent as an adult male. Or allow a male coach to be in the girls locker room. It is silly and no one would think twice. So, why force this on a boy in the Boy Scouts?
Answer: it is all about pushing the Gay agenda and innocent children be damned.
