The left is also hostile to the middle class, whom they view as consumers of too many of the planet's resources. They pontificate endlessly about how Americans consume more than our share of the earth's resources without considering that we also produce even more of our share (50% of the world's corn, 70% of the world's Durham wheat, etc.). To the left, our marvelous production capacity isn't seen as a resource, but a consumption of too much water, fertilizer or whatever the inputs may be.
Their war on the middle class must necessarily include a war on stable heterosexual marriage since the success of such marriages are a key ingredient into entering and remaining in the middle class.
Exactly, Holy Matrimony is the key to staying out of poverty. For once a man loves his wife as Christ loves the church, and loves his family sacrificially, poverty generally leaves.
