OTOH, if he says he had a sexual relationship with a teacher, and he didn’t, he is falsely accusing her of a felony or two, according to the laws of most states, jeopardizing her job, career, and reputation, potentially costing her tens of thousands in legal fees.
Some people say false rape accusations of specific individuals should be felonies, and I tend to agree. The student did not say the teacher raped him in those words; very few boys would, but he did in effect accuse her of statutory rape.
Perhaps if our schools and legal system operated more by commonsense and less by rigid policy, this big mouth would face the administrative and parental consequences of his big mouth, and there would be an end to it.
