Ukraine’s leading political party has said that the international financier George Soros has been preparing a “Lybian scenario” for the country.

­The head of the Party of Regions parliamentary faction Aleksandr Yefremov said in a televised comment on Wednesday that he had information that George Soros had allocated funds for the overthrow of the Ukrainian political authorities.

“I even have information that Soros has allocated certain funds in order to prepare a certain group of young boys here in Ukraine who could launch any existing projects based on the North Africa examples,” Yefremov said. He also added that he hoped that the Ukrainian people will be wise enough not to follow such provocations.

The information about George Soros’s involvement in Ukrainian politics was openly voiced by Yulia Timoshenko in 2008. Timoshenko, then the country’s prime minister, said that she was attempting to minimize the effect of the global financial crisis by following George Soros’s advice. This raised suspicions that through such advice George Soros could influence the rate of the Ukrainian national currency in his own speculative interests. Several officials from president Yushchenko’s administration said they wanted to launch a probe into Soros’ Ukrainian activities, but it did not happen.

It was only in 2010 that the Ukrainian State Security Service started to check the activities of the Vozrozdeniye foundation, officially sponsored by Soros, and its ties with other Ukrainian NGOs, but this probe gave no feasible results.

Sheapdog, his bio is... well... he went to Yale at 16. Not exactly someone I would expect to support a conspiracy theory that involves Yale.

Of course, he then made the big switch and became ", but as we know, it's the same elites behind both parties. Unless he has some sort of epiphany, you're never going to hear anything from Mr. Medved that the elite American establishment doesn't want you to hear.

Soros is a Russian talking point from 2004, so please, get something original this time around.

Simply put, there is not enough money for him to buy 100,000-200,000 people to show up on demonstrations for 2 months straight, get the support of half of the nation (20 million people) for the revolt, and most importantly, get thousand of protesters who are willing to dodge bullets for cash or risk being kidnapped and found dead in a forest.

If you’re looking for a puppet master look east to Moscow. The Soros boogeyman story is just one of the ways that Russians are trying to discredit the Ukrainian revolt; the other, is that protesters are an extremist minority (ignoring that they have the backing of half of the country). Some pundits are now expecting “terrorist acts” to happen which the government will blame on the protesters (ignoring the fact that protesters have never called for such acts)

Soros has actually done much good for Estonia when we were throwing off Russian heel from our necks. I know he is considered evil incarnate and haven't really been paying much attention as to know why, but I have known he was helping Estonia in these critical times. We rather narrowly escaped being totally obliterated by Russia.

Maybe he has some Hungarian identity and national kinship was the driving force behind that. Finns, Estonians and Hungarians are the only three Fenno-Ugric people having nation states.

P.S I would not trust anything from news agency Russia Today. This is Russian state propaganda machine with a purpose of misleading people.

If he’s done so e good for Estonia fine. Good. He’s sure not done much good for America or Christians or Jews generally. And so much of his money seems to go to promote bad or immoral causes. Let’s be quiet about him helping Estonia lest he change his mind about doing something good.

Probably in digital form with no collateral to back it but If Soros were to pull it out I bet it would create one hell of a deficiency.

Not really. Sure, a hacker can steal $1000 from someone, transfer to his bank in Nigeria and withdraw it as cash without much effort. But what will he do if he stole 1 million dollars? (That's the smallest coin in Soros' purse.) He, perhaps, can transfer this money into Nigeria... with all red lights and sirens blaring, because his account is not a commercial one. But let's imagine he has registered a company, and he transferred just one million USD into it. What's next? How much money can he physically spend if all he has is paper? Does he have a gold mine already selected that is for sale? Or a bunch of custom made Ferraris? One simply cannot spend that money fast enough; and chances are very high that he will be invited to his bank and his income discussed, with police from the division of financial crimes present.

In other words, the hacker's time window is too small to do anything useful with the money. He will most likely never see it. Hackers survive only because they do small stuff that flies under the radar. Do something big, and it crashes down.

So the stolen money (the numbers in computers) will be perfectly safe for an eternity in terms of banking - for days, if not for weeks. Once the theft is discovered, the receiving bank will simply reverse the transaction because it has the money. I cannot imagine that the bank would be stupid enough to receive a huge sum of money and, before its fate is clear, lend it all out.

I hope I am not being insulting here, but I must say this. Freerepublic has a google tracker. We now know that google shares information with the government so USA government knows what people post on this site.

I know Google claimed to not give info to government and this turned out to be a lie. But google tracker is still on freerepublic site after they have admitted their guilt...

Ukraine should do what Ukraine wants to do, not what the Europeans want, the UK wants, the Russians want, Soros wants or the US wants.

After all, NONE of them are Ukraine.

Soros has been a talking point for years.

Soros continues to be a talking point.
