I would suggest reading the Wikipedia article on the Ukraine to get started. No one on any side of the situation in the Ukraine will be happy with that article... but that may mean it strikes some semblance of balance.

Also, to get a taste of the politics, the article on jailed ex-President (and opposition leader) Yulia Tymoshenko is, whatever one thinks of her, fascinating. It is also demonstrative of just how disfunctional Ukraine’s politics are. (The US is presently awful, the Ukraine is at least 10x worse.)

If one studies up on the Ukraine for a few evenings, with no preset bias in place, better understanding can be gained.

You apparently have missed the fact that I am aware of what is going on in the Ukraine. My comments were lamenting the lack of decent press coverage.

The US has become a bad actor in foreign policy. The communists have always been bad actors.
