Group Pushes For Delay in South Carolina's Primary Runoff

The group filed with the U.S. Department of Justice, contending that the existing system violates the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act, passed in 2009, which “requires states to transmit validly-requested absentee ballots to service members no later than 45 days before a federal election,..."

Actually Graham's folks may be the ones filing the suit. Delay or eliminate any possibility of a run off election to secure his nomination. The establishment GOP party in SC is not beyond any level of dirty tricks, including throwing otherwise qualified candidates of off the primary ballot as they did in 2012.

It’s the “Grahamnesty” GOPe Republicans who have scheduled the runoff so close to the primary. Folks who want to DEFEAT GRAHAM are the ones who want more time comply with the election law allowing time for South Carolina military members to receive and return their runoff ballot (plus, of course, to allow for more conservative fundraising and time for conservatives to coalesce around the remaining challenger).

I would not be surprised to see the GOPe fight to retain this violation of our military members lawful rights.
