Admittedly I don’t listen to Christian rap or rap of any kind for that matter, but after watching this news report I had to hear Bizzle’s new song which is a well thought out response from a Christian perspective to Macklemore’s song “Same Love.”- (the song the played at the Grammys for the big gay wedding.)

And let me say Bizzle’s new song doesn’t pull any punches at all. It treads in love but it doesn’t tread lightly. It’s quite powerful actually.

But first, watch this news report by KHOU on how Bizzle’s life is being threatened because of his new song:

HEY! Sista Christian. Get a grip!

I’m none of those things.

And if it’s any consolation, DJs suck just as bad as “rappers”. They also think they’re “artists”.

Do you really think Etta James, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, BB King, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughan etc, are looking on, smiling, and saying:

“Mmmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmm, those rappers are really doing us proud.”?

You rap-defenders are just a bunch of tin-eared blockheads.

I went through it and it looks at the end like a promise that we’ll stand by them in their struggle... good start, for one thing it does not assume that once someone becomes Christian then one proof is that that vile desire immediately vanishes.

That’s a stumbling block I see operate too often on FR.

I do not mean to imply, by stating that something can be done better, that all efforts heretofore are useless.

Great point. I do hate the gay bashing of individuals with the affliction that goes on -- it seems incompatible with the conservative position that most of them got into it due to childhood abuse. That said, it's fine with me to bash the political agenda.

I think there is a class of sensitive individuals who could get involved in it due to molestation and find it an addictive pleasure. It would be a kind of “arrested development” — but it does not need to stay that way. Heaping hate on those who are caught in, but yet dissatisfied with this state of affairs is astoundingly counterproductive (but so would be shallow counseling that they should just keep up whatever they happen to feel like). C. S. Lewis warned about the situation of hating one of a pair of errors so much that it drives you into the other of the pair.

... also the people at NARTH (www.narth.com) have a number of theories of what makes people susceptible to this problem. One theory which probably deserves more attention is that it represents an aberration that occurs during the normal progression towards heterosexuality — for boys, between the “I hate girls” stage and the “I want girls” stage. They have a budding sense of sexual awareness, and then find that the associated pleasure can get intensified by some artificial means. For most that’s just what we know as masturbation, but particularly sensitive boys could get pulled into either homosexuality or fetishism. The remedy is to resume the progress towards normal sexuality and this is where a supernatural awareness of God the Father can effect wonders. Because, unlike people (even the boy’s own conscience) God will forgive — the defensiveness can be discarded and the Lord can deal with literally gut-level issues. Even the very circumstance that used to lead to the sin can be transformed in meaning. There is nothing wrong with loving one’s brother, in the love of Christ, or with appreciating symbols of masculinity in an appropriate context.

bashing homosexuality and the behavior is not the same as bashing a person

The old adage “Judge as you would be judged” still stands.

If you had a bad habit, how would you want someone to counsel YOU.

Coddling... By encouraging the bad habit, telling me that the bad habit is my right and those who disagree are haters and should be sued into oblivion!!

It would be a mistake to confuse the handful of loudmouths with most actual homos. Their desiderata are not the same, just like most conservatives don’t call Barack Obama a subhuman mongrel even though Ted Nugent does.
