Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn on Monday marked the five-year anniversary of President Obama’s economic stimulus, but it was hardly a laudatory toast to the 2009 bid to restart America’s infrastructure and workforce.
Mr. Cornyn, Texas Republican, said promises of “shovel-ready” jobs from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 were supposed to “get our economy moving.”
“Five years later, our economy is still sluggish, Americans are dropping out of the workforce by the thousands, and the President’s latest big government experiment, Obamacare, is now on track to slash 2 million more jobs from the workforce,” he said.

Update: This is the response I received from Sen. Cornyn’s office…
“Sen. Cornyn was out of town for a prior committment, but his position is clear – he opposes the stimulus and will vote against final passage.”
Shut up, Cornyn, you quisling. If Harry Reid needs your help this week to pass another item on Obama’s Communist agenda, you’ll be there with the crucial vote to bring it to the floor so he can pass it.

What actions has Cornyn taken that have improved the situation in those 5 years?
Harsh words. The best they can do, apparently.
In the past 30 or 40 years the country has gone into a major decline.
How long has he been in office? 36 years.
36 years was just not enough to get the job done- but Cornyn thinks he can do it with 42

He's in full campaign mode to "prove" he's really a conservative. I hope the weasel is disposed of and has to suffer the humiliation that all the liars who consider themselves "elite" hate to have to consider.
As the minority party, any senator that has voted for cloture and then voted against the bill should be primaried.
Period.
Cornyn voted for cloture on Obama’s stimulus bill by skipping the vote.
Harsh words are about all you are going to get out of Cornyn. Just like Manchin in West Virginia, Cornyn says the right things but then votes with the Beltway crowd to keep expanding government.
John Cornyn never met a democrat cloture vote he didn’t like.
I am sure those harsh words really have Obama, Reid, and Pelosi worried.
Yep - and he can try to say he didn't vote for it. The same way he is trying to get away with saying he voted against the recent debt ceiling raise even though he worked very hard to ensure it would come to a vote and would be passed. He keeps trying to spin a lot to try to get reelected and I hope Texas hands him his own personal Alamo.
Did he say how he “Stood Up To Obama” & “Pushed Back” on Obama’s ever increasing national debt by giving him a clean new debt-ceiling bill without a single dollar in reduced spending or XL Pipeline approval?
HE is a real sleazeball.
Cornyn realizes he is deep doo doo with the election in a few weeks.
He is running around trying to put band aids on all his past actions.
Sorry John, I told you to stand with Cruz or prepare to be voted out.
Hmmmm...... looks like Cornyn has the Washington Times in his back pocket.
