TYLER TX U.S. Senator John Cornyn visited Longview Sunday to address a problem that is all too common here in East Texas.
Sex trafficking is more prevalent now than ever before and the number of sex crimes is on the rise. The reason it is so hard to catch these guys, is because the internet makes it effortless for these criminals to commit these crimes behind closed doors.
"The senator being here is a great help to us. It sheds light on an issue that we have," said Longview Police Chief Don Dingler.
Senator Cornyn listened to the needs and concerns of local anti-trafficking experts, and what they need is funds.

Sex trafficking is already illegal at the Federal and State level.
Instrad of looking for some issue like sex trafficking to grandstand on I’d rather hear what you’re going to do about repealing Obamacare or getting the economy jump started. Especially when many of the politicians in this current administraion are probably using the services of prostitutes, be if male or female.
Coming from ETX, this issue isn’t going to garner more than a handful of interest. And even if he did answer your questions, they’d be lies.
Sex trafficing in East Texas vs. the rape of America by a Marxist regime. Way to pick your battles, Senator.
It is usually the fact, that when someone talks about something like this, he/she is guilty of it.
Cornyn has a lot of experience in being a prostitute.
> Why is a United States Senator involved in this at all?
Distraction. Because Cornyn doesn’t want to talk about his cloture votes for Amnesty, ObamaCare and the Debt Ceiling.
Bingo. All his opponents have to fo is keep hammering him on these issues and he’s finished. The only thing that could save him would be getting 120 % of the votes in precincts via Obama’s magic electronic voting machines which I full well suspect that he will use to keep his Democratic cronies in office. It would be a great catch if someone who’s involved in the process would grow a set and a conscience and step forward and spill the beans.
I don't think I have ever hated anyone as much as I despise these open border creeps, the lives they have ruined, the harm they have caused, the corruption, the abuse. They claim to be open hearted but the opposite is the norm, they are greedy and vile, selling other people lives for a few pieces of silver.
This is ironic, since sex traffickers use the open borders to import more victims. A huge number of the entrapped were lured into bondage by coyotes who promised them a better life in another country. And then, once they have brought their victims here, they use fear and intimidation tactics to keep them from seeking help.
Senator, you cannot credibly claim to be fighting human trafficking while supporting the policies that allowed the problem to bloom. Either you cut off trafficking at the source by enforcing immigration laws and closing the borders, or you support the amnesty and current non-enforcement policies that allow unfettered sex slave trading across the border. Which is it, senator?
No mention where the trafficked victims are coming from or who is doing the exploitation.
In Houston it isn’t exclusively Hispanics. There are problems from the Asian community as well.
But it does appear to be made worse by open borders.
Sex Trafficking has become a buzz issue (maybe it tests well with the female voting demographic) but little discussion about who’s involved in running the business or where the victims are from.
I'm guessing that his internal polling shows a troubling trend where women voters are concerned.
