Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on Friday blasted a bizarre television spot by longshot Texas Senate candidate Dwayne Stovall that likens Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to a Looney Tunes turtle.
"This ad is lousy," Van Susteren said on her Fox website. "It is gratuitously insulting.
"I have no idea whether Stovall is a great candidate or not but his ad makes me think he is a jerk," she added. "You can be clever and funny in ads or you can be gratuitously insulting."
In the ad, Stovell, one of seven candidates vying to unseat Sen. John Cornyn in a GOP primary, blasts the Minority Whip for following McConnell's lead including this week's vote to raise the debt ceiling.
"As a senator from Texas you vote for Texas, you don't stab her in the back by voting for cloture on Obamacare; you don't enslave its children with unconstitutional laws and overwhelming debt and you certainly don't do this to please some guy that looks and fights like a turtle," Stovall says in the 30-second ad.

How does she know he is a longshot candidate? There hasn’t been a poll by anyone in three months. Strange.
Cornyn is getting savaged on his own Facebook pages by his constituents. It’s brutal.

Not sure I agree with chuckin a guys looks, but I did find the ad humorous. I've gone out and read Stovall’s website and what he believes...I like, very much.
Repugnant lot? HAH! More like a festering pustule oozing rino juice.
he’s getting my vote
I guess she had no problem with “whacko birds”, “Tea Party lunatics” or threats of violence (IE punching in the mouth) then.
Mitch does act like a turtle. He pulls into his shell where he is protected and lets the RATs do what ever they want, at our expense.
These are things that lose elections for Republicans- Democrats are allowed to insult their opponents: call them Uncle Tom’s, Porch Monkey’s,and list of so many other insults...
Republicans would do well to remember to fight with facts...
Bull crap, what about actually firing up the base? Sling away, screw that turtle headed a$$wipe.
Donated to Stovall a few days ago. Looks like it’s time for another one.
Your lack of understanding the phrase does indicate that it has no meaning for others.
“Just sayin’” means something specific and meaningful to most people - hence its frequent usage [as you noted.]
Something like “irrespective of the rest, there was one important thing to say” would be close to a definition.
Yes. But it is a secret only know to other *******.
I KNEW I couldn’t be the only one here ;)
I saw the ad and, “yes”, it is a near perfect match. But really this is for freepers to do and not Stovall. We are in the minority as conservatives. We can not give the other side any more ammunition to use against us. Greta is right regarding its poor taste. Our side has much better material to work with in taking down the rhinos and we need to stay on message regarding these traitors. Truth is on our side - let’s use it.
Dwayne Stovall @DwayneStovall
Heard that @gretawire called me a jerk. I wonder what she calls those people enslaving my children in chains of debt. Must be pretty bad.

“I have noticed that she gets her panties in a wad over some dumb stuff lately.”
Me too. I guess to her the GOP equates to the GOPe. After all, she is a CNN transplant, so you can’t expect much more than what you’re seeing.
just sayin’
“a term coined to be used at the end of something insulting or offensive to take the heat off you when you say it.”
“Just sayin’ is almost always used sarcastically and passive aggressively. It is frequently the last phrase in a sentence or a thought.”
Saying, “I’m just saying,” puts a fire escape onto the end of a sentence. It lets you express a stern even rude opinion, but not really. You’re just saying. It invites the listener to discount what we’ve just heard, even as we’re reeling from it.
The Urban Dictionary website explains that the phrase makes it “possible to deliver a rude comment or burn and have it bounce off simply as an opinion disguised as an objective opinion, and who can argue with you over an opinion that you don’t apparently support.”
You used the Urban dictionary? And you have an argument about words and meanings? Really kcvl? Really?
We are everywhere!
