The British Crown abolished slavery in 1834. I’m sure that all surviving former slave owners in Jamaica would be happy to personally pay reparations to any surviving former slaves from the days of legal slavery in Jamaica, just as Americans who owned slaves before 1865 would be happy to pay reparations to their surviving former slaves in the United States.

Imagine how much these professional racists and their followers could produce if they focused on contributing to their society instead of on dividing people. That waste of human life should upset all decent people. I just wish liberals were decent enough to learn.

Africans were enslaved quite often by their own people, then sold to Arabs who transported them to ports where they were shipped on British ships to America.

Interestingly, England and America caused slavery to be outlawed.

Only Islamic ‘nations’ still allow slavery, because the Koran tells them to retain slavery.

True, I'm part Jew myself, my great grandmother suffered twice under the pogroms by having her villages burned out from under her. If slavery reparations commence then I, and many others, should get them too for whatever happened in the past, if you want to be fair about it. I could use the dough, I mean, my mother just passed away, I could use, and need it, for a fresh start ya know. I think I'll type up a demand letter and sent it off to Vladimir Putin. B-P

Why should people who weren’t alive pay for the misdeeds of the dead? Why should the descendants get paid for something that never happened to them? It doesn’t work like that. Slaves weren’t governmentally owned but were owned by individuals. The dead slaves don’t care and certainly won’t get to benefit from such an action. Aplogies and reparations are pointless. Way to go. Using your dead ancestors who suffered to fill your own dirty pockets.
