Ever wonder what a "Loss Prevention Manager" of a "Risk Management Division" of Arlington County, Va does for a living? You didn't? That's what I thought. Well apparently, he dresses up in a suit, tie and overcoat, puts on his ear muffs and then tells us how to shovel snow. Yes, that's right, how to shovel snow. Oh, you think you already know how to shovel snow and don't need a high salaried public employee to tell you how to do it "properly?". . well, think again. His knowledge of how to shovel snow properly is impressive; probably representing hours of "loss prevention" research by, no doubt, an enourmous staff. God, I'm so grateful for having a Risk Manager like this fellow. . .what would we do without him and the government to tell us how to shovel snow!!?? (Watch the video for a good laugh, by the way. . .in case you didn't already know it. . we are doomed).
God I wish I had known this one before. I shoveled last week in a Hawaiian shirt and nearly froze to death.
Ha. I just watched that last night. Sort of P G Wodehouse meets George Orwell. I recommend it.
Aren't you the wordy one? You can use one word to replace that sentence:
"Liberalism"
Heh, it just reminded me one of the things that I actually DO appreciate about liberalism Whenever they have a point to make, they can't help themselves and give away the entire context and content of their message in the first few words of what they are trying to say. I have read so much liberal pabulum, that if I pick up an opinion piece I can tell almost exactly what points that liberal will make just by reading a few words.
I've often opined that I should be grateful to him because those are precious minutes of my life that I won't spend reading their crap, and I won't have to regret never getting those minutes back!
On the downside, I can occasionally get taken in by a satirist or a clever conservative writer, so I do try to take the time to read the entire article now. It only took me a few years on free Republic after putting my foot in my mouth a few times to make sure I did that!
I wonder if he has another PSA on using snow in the absense of toilet paper.
Thank you. I will try that for sure.
don’t the sidewalks belong to the city?let them shovel it.
LOL!
Step One: hire some kid to do it. Nearly fainted last winter when some kid and his buddy knocked on my door, offering to shovel snow from the driveway and front walk for $10. Hadn’t encountered that in decades. May be hope for this country after all.
LOL. .Great image!!
Spray Pam or silicone in the discharge chute.

Well I guess it all depends on your snow blower.
Shovel snow? I just put the Jeep in 4WD.
Snow removal is instantaneous, and very satisfying...
Yeah, baby!
The guy in the video is not doing it right, he’s twisting his back.
