George P. Bush, nephew of George W. Bush and grandson of George H. W. Bush, said he has "reservations" and "concerns" about the Republican Party's rhetoric on immigration.
In a sit-down with CNN reporters and producers Tuesday, Bush said that he and other Republicans wish the party would "return to George W. Bush on this issue," referring to the former president's bipartisan push to reform the nation's immigration policy.
But with Election Day fast approaching, Bush said it's probably too late for Republicans to pivot away from the party's conservative base and seize the political high ground on the immigration issue.
"I am a pessimist as to the timing right now," said Bush, a co-founder of the Hispanic Republicans of Texas and a fluent Spanish speaker.

Just for the hell of it, George P., why don’t you ‘splain to us how life would be better for illegals iffen they was Republicans?
“Hes concerned that we dont accept enough Democrats into the country.”

That’s the absolute truth. I hope that all Texas conservatives will REFUSE to vote for this Bush—in either the primary or the general should he make it that far.
As a side note, I would bet that there were either zero (or very close to zero) Aztecs in the current US portion of the mythical country of “Aztlan”. The “Mexicans” who were in that part of the current US were predominantly Spanish settlers. Of course in the 20th century there were waves of illegal (and legal) immigration from Mexico of Mexicans with varying degrees of Aztec ancestry.

“Stay out da Bushes!”
Great article, jimbo.
GPB is now running for Texas Land Commissioner, trying to follow the David Dewhurst path to Lieutenant Governor, which is the most powerful position in Texas politics (Dewhurst was beaten by Ted Cruz for senator). The current land commissioner is also running for Lt. Gov so this is probably GPB’s roadmap for the future. He will probably win because his opponent is even weaker than he is (less known, less money), but GPB has no meaningful endorsements nor should he because his only qualification resides in his last name, if that. I won’t be voting for him. Texas is not a friendly place for RINOs anymore.
This is going to be the voting pattern for the next few elections. Another few castrated/liberal presidents of either party will pretty much seal our demise.
George P. and his relatives are hughe open borders advocates, but people in TX don’t know that.
What are his “reservations” and “concerns”? That they’re not pandering enough already?!
I suggest nothing, but I'll tell you what I think:
I think the U.S. has a long history of invasion, subjugation, and absorption.
I have a long enough view of history to realize that isn't unique, and damned sure isn't permanent.
I'd rather live in a small, free republic, than a globe spanning, socialist empire.
