During the February 13 broadcast of CBS This Morning, host Charlie Rose and his guest turned to the topic of this year's harsh winter, calling the extreme cold an example of global warming.
Guest Michio Kaku, a physics professor from New York City College--not a climatologist, but a physicist--claimed that the "wacky weather" could get "even wackier" and its all because of global warming. "What we're seeing is that the jet stream and the polar vortex are becoming unstable. Instability of historic proportions. We think it's because of the gradual heating up of the North Pole. The North Pole is melting," professor Kaku said.
"That excess heat generated by all this warm water is destabilizing this gigantic bucket of cold air... So that's the irony, that heating could cause gigantic storms of historic proportions," the prof explained.

Kaku is a government grant-funded government shill physicist. He always takes the leftist side on every issue.
Here in central Germany....we’ve yet to have anything beyond a few snowflakes fall this winter. The temp has rarely gone below 32-degrees. There’s talk of fifty-five degree temps in Munich this weekend. Other than a fair amount of extra rain than normal...nothing else. No complaints here.
The left intends to use both to gain wealth and power over the unsuspecting public.
Just another corrupt scientist chasing that fat government paycheck.
They can predict weather 6000 years from now - but didn't see this one coming?
And what would be 'less wacky' to Michio? 65 degrees every day all year long?
We all know that the climate was a static mechanism until the White Devils came to be. /s
“Unstable”? Weather? Unlikely. A Physicist should know this.
Yep. You have to be a pretty dumb character to believe that
global warming is causing the earth to get colder. We’re
talking northeastern liberal dumb and that’s about as dumb
as a human being can get and still walk upright.
And Obama wants to spend 1 billion on studying climate change. I am so glad that we have so much money to spend on such things. We are so lucky to have such an abundance of money with zero worries and no debt. What an awesome country we have. UGH!
The SeeBS idiots are mad because all the snow is falling on the eastern half of the U.S. instead of the Russian banana belt for their “gay” Olympics. Idiots. One thing about moronic communists, everything has to be perfect and the way THEY want it. If it isn’t, they start crying, whining and peeing their pants.
I think it was in 7th or 8th grade science class where I learned that cold was the absence of heat. Cold can not be measured. It was heat that was being measured.
How can in increase in heat cause the same place also cause an increase in cold, which by definition is the absence of heat? Did physics change over the last 40 years? Have I missed something?
Could the real reason there is a push to legalize pot be so that all this nonsense makes sense? One has to wonder after listening to GW cultist explain the changing magic of GW.
So in effect, Kaku is arguing that the North Pole, were the heat is not, is getting heat, because of mankind, especially Western mankind and a modern economy, causing the heat that is not to be pushed South, where the heat is, causing it to become heat that is not.
The recorded temperatures for this winter disagree with you. It’s been an unremarkably normal winter.
KAKU ICED TEA-
1.add water to a pot
2 boil
3. result: instant KAKU ICED TEA.

Sounds a lot like my winters in Germany (two back-to back extended long tours). I think we had one really cold winter and one really snowy winter. Someone told me the winters seemed to run in seven year cycles.
And, it’s Bush’s fault.
