Are you saying that out of a country of 320,000,000 million people only 6 million are gay? That is two percent. I find that hard to believe. It seems it has to be at least 32 million just in Hollywood alone. I think your figures are WAY off.

But they have no kids to send to college so they have twice the disposable income, and therefore have more money to give toward activism, and political causes.
