If you are discussing the whole season instead of days, is it climate then?

I heard an climate 'expert' on the radio yesterday. I came in late so I didn't get his name (it was a CBS affiliate). He went into great technical detail as to why we have cold weather (and, yes, it was due to global warming). At the end he proclaim that in the future we can expect either mild or harsh winters. What other kind of winter is there?
