People have bought the gay freedom thing hook line and sinker. The media campaign has been totally successful. In 2011 Obama was against gay marriage and now he’s leading the parade.

Political correctness has silenced us all. You can’t even respond to this without people denouncing you as a bigot. I would get fired if I disagreed with gay lifestyle in front of my coworkers.

“The media campaign has been totally successful.”

Yep. I have to admit, however begrudgingly, that gay activists reframing the argument as a constitutional civil rights/equal protections issue was brilliant. In one fell swoop, legitimate issues such as the staggering STD rates among gay men, the mental health issues associated with the ‘trans’ types, and so on were all swept away for some benighted notion that this was the civil rights challenge for this generation. This seems especially true with younger people, where the pro-gay support even among supposed conservatives can be disturbingly high. Add to that pro-gay images in nearly ever medium (even a stuffy old comic book like Archie has a gay character now), and it’s pretty much everywhere in pop culture.

The worst part, as you point out, is that the deck has been stacked so that no reasonable dissent can be made. Any questioning of the science or reasoning behind any aspect of the gay agenda immediately leads to screeches of homophobe.

Have concerns about a six year old boy being surgically altered into an approximation of a girl, because of some very unsettled science about brain chemistry? Homophobe.

Have concerns about the soundness behind the proposal of lifting the blood donation ban on gay men (who account for 70% of new HIV and syphilis infections, despite being a tiny percentage of the general population)? Homophobe.

Believe in the traditional view of male-female relationships, and have deeply held religious views in that area? Homophobe, and one who doesn’t understand what your faith “really” says, to boot.

It’s maddening. Accept it and shut up is no way for a supposedly free country to function.
