Cutting there own trees and running a sawmill would bring the feds down on Walton’s mountain so fast it would make your head spin.

I can see it now. “Standoff on Walton’s mountain. There will be blood.”

The only thing I didn’t like about THE WALTONS was “Grandma” was always pissed off.

“Standoff on Walton’s mountain. There will be blood.”

That would be the 'Walton's White-Separatists Cult-Compound.'

Jim Bob was the one who loved aviation. It was Jason who was the musician.

I loved that show. I didn’t watch it the first time around, but I’ve become hooked on it in syndication. Back when it first aired, wholesome programming wasn’t in such short supply. Now I treasure any channel I can find with family programming.

I did love the character of John Walton, in spite of his obstinance regarding the family’s faith. He displayed Christian values even if he did resist affiliating himself with the church.

People like to make fun of The Waltons but I'm fascinated by that show. It shows me an America I will sadly never know.

The theme music to that show is perfect. Really sets the mood and puts you in mind of 1930s Appalachia.

He was Booth’s Grandfather.
Not his dad.

Todd Bridges on the Waltons.

These days he'd be robbing Ike Godsey.

What was the name of the drunk that Jason hung out with. He was one of my favorites and a pretty good guy in his own right.

I drove up through Schuyler, Va. and noticed a store called “Ike Godsey’s store” and looked across the road and there was a small house with about 300 “no trespassing” signs around it. The “sawmill” was a one car garage next to the small house. The family’s actual surname is the Hamner’s and the mother back then was still living there in the house.

Thank you.

I've always loved The Waltons....even moreso the last 15+ years as my kids were growing up. I used to "make" them watch it before we went out to wait for the school bus. :(
