LOUISVILLE, KY, February 12, 2014 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A judicial ruling that Kentucky must recognize same-sex "marriages" conducted in other nations or U.S. states may spell more trouble for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.
U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II offered a strongly worded rebuke to tradition and religion on Wednesday, saying the state amendment -- which was approved by three-quarters of state voters -- "demeans" homosexuals.
The Madison Project, a national grassroots organization that favors traditional marriage, noted that President George H.W. Bush appointed Heyburn to the bench in the early 1990s following a recommendation from Senator Mitch McConnell who used him as a special counsel while serving as Judge Executive of Jefferson County in the early 80s. Thanks to McConnell, Kentucky is being subjected to the tyranny of the liberal agenda without a vote. (Emphasis in original.)
The group, along with the Senate Conservatives Fund, is backing McConnell's GOP primary opponent, Matt Bevin, who has seen his poll numbers rise 24 percent since the first of the year.
The Bluegrass Poll shows McConnell with a solid lead over Bevin. However, it also shows Democratic challenger Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes defeating McConnell but losing to Bevin.
The Republican primary is May 20.
I guess there’s always a silver lining in these things.
He has to go
I hate this puke even more now. He has to go. DITCH MITCH
It used to be SOP to demean, ostracize, marginalize, and otherwise shun perverts.
What a grand new day.
Now if Bevin’s people are actually paying attention...
“demeans homosexuals”
Makes perfect sense—destroy the bedrock of civilization in order to help homosexuals make believe that their perversion is not perversion. The judge is a fool.
Had enough, Kentucky? The rest of us certainly have. McConnell should have been fired the last time he ran,but better late than never.
Homos aren’t only prancing around in the queer bars.
They are like American hating muslims in at least one respect:
They are employed everwhere in just about any capacity you can think of - teachers, judges, lawyers, county commissioners, police, politicians, etc.
And they tend to gravitate to employment where they can use their positions to further their personal agenda.
No matter what turn up against McC, it’s never enough to move the slightest number of diehard, stand-pat Kentuckians.
Don’t agree at all. This will have zero effect on McConnell. Now what WILL have significant effect, and hopefully enough to nominate Bevin, is McConnell’s waltz down Liberal Ln in the Debt Ceiling fiasco.
NO, KY has not had enough. They are true believers there. To repudiate McC would mean that they had to admit they are wrong, and that a Kentuckian just won’t do.
How come the states that don’t have queer marriage have to recognize other state’s laws?? How come the states that do recognize them don’t have to honor the not-recognizers?????????????!!!
I hope Matt Bevins can hang this around McConnell’s neck. Bevins needs to mobilize Pastors, Members of the Madison Project and others, who believe in traditional marriage between a man and a woman, and get as much mileage out of this as he can. We don’t want Grimes defeating Mitch the Bi*ch in November. We need Matt to take him out in the GOP Primary.
This will have zero effect on McConnell.

OMG... What planet are you on dude? 75% of the voters in KY voted for the amendment banning same-sex marriage and you think the freakin’ debt ceiling is more important to them than this? One thing we know for sure; you do NOT live in Kentucky. As a matter of fact, I’d venture to say that 80% of all Americans don’t give a crap about the “Debt Ceiling fiasco”. Everybody is not the political junkie those of us are who are here on FR.
Matt Bevin!
Bull feathers! The "homosexuals" demean themselves by their own behavior.
