The IRS came after us after my husband sent a donation to a local Tea Party. Thankfully, we have used a CPA since we retired years ago and he was furious over what they were trying to do and was very verbal in his communications to them concerning the matter. There was nothing there and no two people could have been as careful to pay the required taxes over the years as we have been. My belief is that they looked at our age and decided they could intimidate us because we are Senior Citizens. The amount of money they told us we owed to them was astronomical and confiscatory of our savings.

The same thing happened with us. We kept wondering why they were hassling us, and when I heard the first admission that the IRS had targeted conservatives, a light bulb finally went on. The whole thing had made no sense until then.

My guess would be that there is an army of people like us out here. The emphasis has been persecution of conservative organizations, but what about the persecution of conservative individuals? What about those who post on Free Republic, Facebook or other social media? Are we/they targets, as well. Gestapo is the correct word to describe it. Dr. Carson believes people do not speak out because they are afraid of their government which is a very dangerous situation.
