I agree your right, I was just mentioning famous people who have died..but your right, Hoffman isn’t even in the same league
“I fell into yellow.”
One of the best lines in the movie.
Pretty sure that documentary they list is the one I saw on PBS where they had those guys together talking about how they wrote the episodes. It was hilarious and fascinating.
Shirley, Sid,...?
Rest In Peace under the big “W”, Sid.
You will be missed.
“Caesar’s wife must be above suspicion.” - Caesar.
I have not seen Mary T. Moore smile, I mean really smile in humor, since about 1983, and she may have been pretending then too.
NO I do have Rose Marie from Dick Van Dyke show
I had the pleasure of meeting his son who is an emergency room surgeon in Portland, OR.
From what Mel Brooks has said, he had one heck of a temper as well. Brooks stated that the punching out of the horse scene in Blazing Saddles came from a Sid Caesar experience, as well as a few other examples he has given over the years.
Show of Shows was my favorite show growing up and I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with Mr Caesar 20 years ago.
Rest in Peace
Of the comedians, there's still Marvin Kaplan who, with Arnold Stang (who died in 2009), tried to kill Jonathan Winters as he was destroying their gas station after being set up by Phil Silvers, who had stolen Winters' truck . . well, that's how I remember it anyway.
Dorothy Provine, who played Sid Caesar's wife in IAMMMMW (remember the "little explosion" they tried to set off in the basement of he hardware store?), died in 2010.
Could be the little boy who gave Phil Silvers advice on which road to take out of his mountain residence is still with us, but not many others from that film. Too many died too soon.
She’s still alive?
Borge could literally put me on the floor laughing.
What always amazed me about Borge is that the same material would have me laughing no matter how many times I heard it. His gag with the upside-down musical score never failed to leave me in stitches.
Yeah, I’d have been disappointed if he didn’t have trouble with his coat tails and get his fingers cross tangled.
. . and the piano bench stunts, like the seat belt under the lid. Victor Borge was one of a kind.
Count me as another who'd never heard of this Hoffman until a few days ago; but I don't "do" movies...
