Go for death. His dirtbag attorneys will appeal for years. Put him in the general population while the appeals go on. While he languishes in prison, place him in the position of being repeatedly put into the position by his fellow inmates, as often as possible. If he survives that punishment and doesn’t off himself then slam him into solitary “death watch” for a couple of years to let his abused orifices heal and then put him down.
Pray that the stupid prosecutors don’t try to make the primary charge using a weapon of mass destruction. His little gambit was terrorism but was hardly using a weapon of mass destruction. That is a sure loser. Straight terrorism and murder by way of terrorism should suffice.
Isn’t our prison population full of Muslims and would-be Muslims already? This guy would recruit more.
