If the wet snow gets too heavy the roof will collapse. They warn people around here to try to keep their roofs clear. We’ve had roofs collapse and it is dangerous. Heavy snow is what brought down our barn.
We have a steeply peaked roof configuration, and every once in a while on a sunny day, a whole lotta snow just slides right off.
It usually falls on the yard, but once we had a bit fall on the concrete pad outside of the garage. Very handy for snow throwing with the Deere just inside the garage door.
