One of the English Premiere League soccer clubs - Tottenham United, maybe? - still uses an unofficial nickname of “yids” dating back to a time where a large percentage of the population in that area was Jewish. Not so much anymore, but the fans still use the term.

Of all the different animal nicknames for teams, the one you usually don't see is Raccoons (and yes I like the animal hence my nickname here). Some teams do have raccoon mascots, like the Hudson Valley Renegades and the Tennessee Titans; and the image of a "masked bandit" "stealing a base" is funny, etc. but I think teams are afraid of the potential chants: GO COONS GO!
