Cop Shoots Service Dog During Kid's Birthday Party

On Saturday, a police officer in Filer, Idaho responded to a call about two dogs running around without leashes on a suburban street. Thirty-eight seconds after exiting his patrol car, Officer Tarek Hassani determined that one of the animals was too aggressive and fatally shot it in the front yard of its owner's house. A video ...shows the 7-year-old black labrador convulsing and whimpering before moving out of the dash cam's line of sight.

The dog, named “Hooch,” belonged to Rick Clubb, who says he suffers from Parkinson's disease and that Hooch was his trained service animal. At the time of the shooting, Clubb was apparently inside, hosting his 9-year-old son's birthday party....

Police Chief Tim Reeves explained to a local Fox affiliate, "My decision was that [Hassani] did a good job and he was totally justified in putting the dog down."

"What is with all these cops shooting dogs for no damn' good reason?!"

It is an excuse to kill and feel the thrill of killing; the thrill of power; the dominance of the conqueror.

Google "what is best in life" and you'll see the poseur tasting of the concept when a sworn law enforcement officer commits gratuitous canicide.

"Cops like this deserve to die!"

Sentiments like that are merely the crest of a wave. Hence the militarization of law enforcement. They know where they stand with the people.

i dont agree the dogs were being aggressive, they were just barking. their tails were up and they were wagging. had he just walked back to his car he would have been fine. also, note, he starts out by kicking the dog. had he just bent over a little and called to the dog that might have worked, instead he chose to be hostile, and surprise, he drew a barking faction. then he shot the dog. that is totally unforgivable.
in your view, is anyone who has a dog bark at them justified in shooting the dog? there would be a lot of dead dogs in our town.

“in your view, is anyone who has a dog bark at them justified in shooting the dog? “
Nope , absolutely not . But here was a cop , responding to a lose dogs complaint and just coming from an extensive conversation with the RP , who told him that the dogs had a consistent pattern of harassing folks on the street . It did not seem like he was even planning to go to the point of complaint origination , but then as he went to the back of the cul-d-sac , there were the dogs , out loose and they were definitely barking and challenging . All of that violated the local ordinances . Personally I think he should of called for and waited for backup . The presence of several police cars arriving in front of the house might have gotten the attention of the owners , who seemed totally unaware of the barking and shouting going on outside . This I do know ; a lot of very stupid people also own dogs . Between the owners and the animals , problems happen . Are you willing to trust the safety of the kids in the neighborhood to a (reported) situation like that ? It was a tough call and a very sad situation .

Texas recently refused to convict a guy who killed a cop during a surprise “no knock” raid.

Seems people down there have a right to shoot maniacs who crash into their homes in the dead of night.

Legal precedent set.

The cops will be sure to be even more “fast and efficient” now and leave no witnesses.

you make good points, but it still doesn’t lead to just up and shooting the animal.

and on the practical side, i bet that cop now wishes he had just stayed in t he car and called for animal control. no one was in any danger, he put himself in the situation and now his career is baadabing.

so on multiple levels, it was an extremely poor decision.

and for the record, the pitiful sound of the dog after it was shot is just heartbreaking. guy is a bad shot on top of it all. lucky he didn’t hit his own foot IMHO.

The cop is a dumbass and should be punished. However, if you don’t want this kind of stuff to happen to your dog/kids/whatever, don’t let them outside unsupervised. Take some responsibility for your property.

Dog tries to sniff or lick Muslim Cop. Muslim cop kicks dog, dog snarls, Muslim cop shoots dog.

Simple - they don;t belong here in a civilized country - Muslims, not dogs.

once upon a time I had my best friend in the whole world , a Belgian Malinois , bleed out in my lap , after being shot by a neighborhood , and having the cops do nothing to them , because ,like in this situation , my locality has a leash law and I had been letting my dogs run lose . They found that the neighbor was within his rights , as his little goat was being attacked by my dogs . I learned the hard way . I know what the life leaving your best friend looks like . Yet I was the one in error and I have to live with that knowledge and that loss myself .

I think that every one of these reports where a cop kills a dog the police chief invariably defends the cop with a statement to the effect that the officer was doing his job.

Unless the Police Chief does a 180 in the next 24 hours due to the dash cam evidence, nothing will happen to this muslim scum “officer” enjoying shooting unclean kaffir dogs.

“the militarization of law enforcement”

read State Dept Pub 7277 Freedom From War. This explains the “why” and “how” to what you state.

Where is PETA or Sarah MacLachlan singing about the dogs? All we’ll get is a Saturday Nite Live comedy sketch.

netsearch on “Gatestone Institute” and “jihad” and “dogs”
to see more thoughts on this. Seems like some kind of
signalling is going on.
P.S. in my near-duplicate OP on this, the URL doesn’t
work. Any advice on how to fix it up>

It was probably a Muslim neighbour that called the cops.
