To: Iron Munro

It is not illegal to avoid paying taxes. It is illegal to not pay taxes owed. Can you imagine this line of thinking trickling down into state governments? If you live in California, and want to leave the state due to its high taxes, you would be considered avoiding taxes. Could they bar you from leaving? Could they charge you California taxes when you live in Texas?

They are talking about “exit taxes” for people who leave the state.
