Anyone who wants to read one book that will help explain the international crises of our time should read "The Gathering Storm" by Winston Churchill. It is not about the Middle East or even about today. It is about the fatuous and irresponsible foreign policies of the 1930s that led to the most catastrophic war in human history. But you can recognize the same fecklessness today.
Chills. On a somewhat enforced rest last month I re-read that one along with Shirer's Berlin Diary. It was very disturbing reading.
Have you read “Before the Deluge” by Otto Friedrich?
or “Hitler Warned Us” by John Laffin?
or “On borrowed Time” by Lenard Mosley?
Or “Last Train from Berlin” by Howard K. Smith?
Watching what is happening today sends chills down
your spine after reading books like those.
If Obama had been president during the time of
Saddam Hussein, he would have GIVEN him Kuwait.
I haven’t read either one but it’s hard to imagine that foreign policy could be any worse than 0bama’s.
I hope you’re well, my FRiend.
Sowell BTT.

On a much less intellectual level, watching “Cabaret” again is somewhat similar.
Tomorrow belongs, tomorrow belongs, tomorrow belongs to...
