So, one wonders just who is Juan Carlos Lopez. Is he heterosexual or homosexual? Is he a Catholic in name only, or is he of another faith? Or, is he simply another hack politician looking for some publicity? It would be interesting to find out.

And we Catholics thought persecution and martyrdom was only a Roman pagan practice. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

“Spain is a modern country and a secular one, and these types of declarations from the church have to be punished because [members of the church] are the least qualified to talk about sexual deficiencies, above all because they have hidden cases of child abuse and paedophilia (pedophilia),”

So how about a comparison on the percentage of Catholic priest guilty of child abuse and pedophilia, versus the percentage of homosexuals guilty of child abuse and pedophilia.

My money is on homosexuals having a much higher percentage.

And another thing, the child abuse and pedophilia that is committed by priests is mostly against boys, meaning the abuses are being committed by homosexuals who happen to be priests and who prey on young boys.

Thanks for the ping and good for the Cardinal-elect! Hope he gets support from Rome; but I'm not holding my breath.

Speaking of appointments by Pope Francis, have you seen this:

New Secretary of State wants 'less bureaucratic' Roman Curia

The new Secretary of State—who will soon receive a cardinal’s red hat-- also spoke with Avvenire about Vatican diplomacy, saying that the Holy See has no “interests” or “strategies” other than the goals of promoting peace and the common good.

What I bolded above is something I would expect from one of the Pope's well-intentioned atheists, not a spokesman for the Holy See.

Eventually some of these Church leaders will have to confront these accusations and take a stand - for the gospel of Jesus Christ. If this means imprisonment, so be it. We must pray for these people who are being threatened because they uphold the laws of Christianity.
