This is from memory. Pollard, who had a Top Secret job and had sworn loyalty the the US, stole secrets concerning a spy satellite and gave the manuals to Israel. Israel gave/traded/bartered them to the Soviet Union so the Soviet Union would permit their Jewish citizens to immigrate to Israel.

Pollard's theft caused the expenditures of hundred of thousands of technical man hours by the US to “compensate” for the losses ( and millions of dollars also). A valuable US resource was compromised.

The un Christian view is that he should rot in jail until the second coming.
