“Facts dont matter.
Nothing short of a full repeal will suffice.”
If the implementation by business had not been arbitrarily and illegally delayed until after the 2014 elections, the country would be in an uproar at this moment and a smart opposition party would be using the issue to win on multiple others in Congress.
The pain will not hit until next year. If the uproar occurs after the election the Dems will hang tough through the storm in 2015 knowing it won’t be an issue in 2016. As long as the Dems do not lose enough Senate seats to have a filibuster proof Senate, Obamacare is here to stay.
With respect to the Senate, even if the Republicans have a one or two seat majority I don’t see them employing the nuclear option to end filibusters by the Dems. Reid will scream about the traditions of the Senate, which he himself violated, and the RINO Republicans will cave in the spirit of creating a bipartisan tone.
Had implementation by business not been delayed the Republicans would be able to vote to end Obamacare today and probably get over 50% of the Democrat House members to vote in favor. Reid would have to refuse to bring the bill to the floor or at least 8 to 10 vulnerable Democrat Senators would vote to end it. Obama would then be faced with vetoing the bill in the face of a public loudly demanding its repeal. In that event his presidency would be toast.
Obama saved Obamacare and his presidency by delaying business implementation. If the GOP was a smart party they would have countered by immediately appareling his unlawful action to the Supreme Court or voting article of impeachment to force him to implement his law. The fact they did nothing indicates they are complicit with imperial rule by decree.
Are you a lawyer? I’m not.
It’s my understanding that Congress cannot on its own, bring the matter to court, that it does not have “standing.”
