My wife’s mother was jealous of her when her new stepfather was around. She thinks he must have made comments about her to her mother. The fact that her mother was only 15 years older than her probably didn’t help things.
My mother wasn’t jealous of her daughter when she married my father - and my sister was beautiful all her life (RIP).
