I've always loved winter up here since snow generally stays and is actually white all winter, this is the first time it's actually got me a bit scared. The wind, the cold, the amount of snow causing drifts and lots of white outs is almost a daily occurrence. A week ago I was driving through a virtual tunnel, an 8 foot drift had taken over one half of the main road I was driving on, with a four foot drift on the other side. I'm going 2 miles an hour because I can't see five feet in front of my car, just hoping no one is coming from the other direction. That happened several times as I was driving, the single lane drift tunnels lasting for over many hundreds of yards with no visibility.

Freak stuff. No one up here has seen anything quite like this, I've even spoken to people that have been here since the early 1940's.

In my little town even the road surface is pretty clean packed snow. It hasn’t been able to melt into slush so it’s stayed pretty clean.
