Convenience stores are a low productivity business. You cannot pay well, because such businesses cannot generate the level of profits that other businesses can.

It’s a good place to get your feet wet in the working world and I was willing to do what I can to help them gain real working skills so they could go get better jobs. Unfortunately they couldn’t see any value beyond what was written on their paycheque.

I suppose it is a good place to inculcate the ethic that the essence of business it to serve people. But it doesn’t give them any skills to serve people with value to make middle class income.

“..such businesses cannot generate the level of profits that other businesses can.”

That’s a good reason to steer clear.

That said, I’d like to buy a handful of 18 to 25 yr olds for what they are worth and sell them for what they think they are worth. (*No, I do not condone slavery and am not a racist, although my wife would say I am extreme.)
