For John Cornyn (Endorsement)
Houston Chronicle ^ | 1/24/14 | Editorial Board

Posted on 02/06/2014 6:14:41 AM PST by jimbo123

Incumbent should emulate former colleague Kay Bailey Hutchison in approach to service.

For the second state election cycle in a row, a Republican primary race will be the main event in the election of a United States senator from Texas. Texas Democrats are effectively spectators, as they have been far too often since 1994. Five relative unknowns have declared to challenge the GOP winner in November.

Two years ago, the retirement of veteran U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison triggered a four-person GOP campaign that eventually led to the election of dark horse Ted Cruz. In November, Cruz cruised to victory over Paul Sadler, a capable but embarrassingly under-financed Democrat. And so it's likely to turn out this time around.

This time there's an incumbent in the race, Sen. John Cornyn, who has held the seat since 2002 and has risen to the third highest Republican leadership post in the Senate.

In the March 2 primary, we urge GOP primary voters to cast their ballots to return Cornyn to Washington.

I have heard his frequently run radio ads painting himself as a reliable conservative and for fighting Obama.

It reminds me of KBH trying to hid in a Fake Conservative Suit. She got few takers.

He has taken some seriously flawed position for a long time.

The Houston Chronicle will also endorse Hillary in ‘16 because they are a Leftist propaganda organ, as is every large urban paper in Texas. Fortunately, conservatives ignore their endorsements. Unfortunately, when Democrats and RINOs grant amnesty to the millions of illegals in Texas, it will be a Democrat welfare state like all the others. The USA will be finished.

When the Houston Chronicle endorses someone, that’s all you need to know.

No bias here.

No mention of Cornyn's mendacity in his cloture votes for Amnesty and for funding ObamaCare.

For those from Rio Linda, "mendacity" means "lying."

As in, "John Cornholio is a lying sack of shiite."

He campaigns as a conservative, does one or 2 things during the next 5 years that conservatives like - all the while being corrupted by the inside-the-Beltway system and voting against our interests and his promises - and then becomes a "conservative" in the few months before the primary.

AMNESTY!!! Cooperating with Upchuck Schumer!!! Really??? The minute you agree on ANYTHING with that steaming pile of dog turds on anything besides the color of the sky, you lose me.

Not even taking over for Ted Cruz for a single minute, as a show of support for your fellow Texan and as a signal to the other side that you're serious about repealing Obamacare!!!??? Liar, liar, LIAR!

Been there, done that...NOT doing it again. ANYONE but Cornholio. If he wins the primary, I will (however reluctantly) vote for him in the general - but that'll be a vote against Hairy Reed being the Majority Leader more than anything else.

.
The USA will be finished even earlier when sharia law gets a hold of this country, and the possibility of that happening is getting very real considering the way we cuddle and kiss up to Islam.

Backstabber, he would not support his fellow Senator to get rid of Obamacare, effectively foisting Obamacare on all of us.

We Texans used to think he was conservative when compared to Kay Bailey Hutchison.

It wasn’t until we elected Ted Cruz last year that we realized what a true conservative should look and act like.
Now we know we have been snookered by the likes of Cornyn.

Cornyn needs to go. Period.

Piece of crap Cornyn also voted for Cloture on Schumer’s Amnesty bill.

And one of his long-time cronies is responsible for the “Conservatives for Amnesty” ads all over the radio that are being funded by Zuckerberg.

Cornball needs to go, but standing in our way is a phalanx of “moderate” Republican primary voters also pre-committed to George P. Bush.

John Cornyn claims to be the 2nd most conservative member of the Senate.

Yet, as Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, he
hand-selected these "Republican" candidates:
  • Arlen Specter - Democrat
  • Charlie Crist - Democrat
  • Lincoln Chafee - Democrat
  • Lisa Murkowski - Independent

Also, when he had a chance to stop ObamaCare by supporting Ted Cruz' filibuster

he FAILED

and hid behind a meaningless vote later.

He pulled the same trick on the Senate amnesty bill.

"I have heard his frequently run radio ads painting himself as a reliable conservative and for fighting Obama."

------------------------------------------->

When I hear his ads about being a fighter against Obama, I think "who is he talking about?!"

He is a career politician; he is no conservative as I see conservatives; his ads make my stomach turn.

There is a parody of his ads by Michael Berry on, I think, KTRK, in Houston. So funny.

First time I heard it, I laughed so hard I had to run to bathroom - that is how funny it is!

Just emailed Mr. h to see if I can get the parody address - it is full of Cornyn being "just like us".

Here is a sample: "John Cornyn checks his Facebook page while he's on the pot Just like us."

You have to hear it to really enjoy it!

Will get back with y'all about where you can hear it.
