I’m not sure where this article is going.

The Post Office has had armed personnel for many decades. My grandfather was one. During the depression, he would shepherd high value mail and parcels containing stock certificates, bonds, etc. from brokerages and banks until they got into the system. (He carried a nice Colt .38, BTW).

Now if they’re buying 300 million rounds or something, that might be a whole ‘nother ball of wax.

Someone has taken to heart the prepper theme of investing in lead as a store of value. Maybe they are being paid in an asset class with potential for market manipulation upward(;>)
