I’m somewhat aware of the history of the Post Office and realize that postal inspectors have been armed for some time. I’m also aware of the trend towards militarizing any and all government agencies under the last three or four administrations and their aping of the Geheime Staatspolizei.
Agreed. 50 years ago, situations where 4 cops with revolvers would have sufficed are now met with 20 paramilitaries with full battle rattle and an MRAP.
Maybe a small percentage of encounters may require this response but it certainly appears if they don’t use these “resources” on a regular basis, they won’t continue to get funding for them.
Not good.
