The most important decision any President will make is whether or not to risk our sons and daughters lives in defense of the nation.

Such a decision requires a man of high character. Military experience is valuable, in my opinion, but not absolutely necessary.

John McCain is an example of a military man who would've made a rotten president -- especially with regard to the singular issue of war. McCain seems anxious to engage the country in each and every regional conflict. He does not demonstrate the restraint which most military men exhibit on the issue.
