It is nothing to be made fun of, as I see many FReepers doing. It is human nature to make light of the unknown and events totally beyond our control.
An asteroid could hit us and have the same effect (or much much worse). Movies and jokes are made about it all the time.

Its called black humor...whistling past the graveyard...etc. if it blows and there is time...break out the lawn chair, a good Chardonnay, and wait for the show...not gonna live through it anyway, cause that's life.

And you are worried why? Oh, that is right you might loose your SS check and have to start roaming the jungles cutting native fruit and trying to sell on the open market.
Oh and by the way if this does happen you will not be safe in your lil turd world country. The ash cloud will ring the earth. When starvation kicks in the non-believers will be pot-luck dinners for the muzzies——bwhahahahahaha.
You might consider convertin’ over to Islam if you haven’t already.

I recall greeting cards back in the early sixties with jokes about nuclear war on them. Humor is a way of coping with something over which you believe you have no control.
